Hysteroscopy is an approach that permits your doctor to look inside your uterus to diagnose and treat causes of abnormal bleeding. Hysteroscopy is executed using a hysteroscope, a thin, lighted tube that is planted into the vagina to examine the cervix and inside of the uterus. An operative hysteroscopy is used to pull out polyps, fibroids and adhesions.
